Family reunion last easter in Boscastle, North Cornwall. It was the first time in over a year the whole family had been together and the weather was scorching. Perfect!

My perfect English weekend would be in Cornwall.Stunning beaches with rugged coastline.Watching the surfers and small boats from a craggy clifftop. The wind and sun kissing my skin as I explore the caves along the shoreline.I dream of pirates and hidden treasure. Then perhaps a spot of pampering before my Cornish cream tea. Later, fantastic seafood served in the restaurant of my small and charming hotel.

My perfect English weekend would be a day exploring one of the fishing villages - Mevagissey is a favourite, having been a regular destination when I was growing up in the 70s. Out for a pub lunch in the evening to enjoy some local home made food. A decent nights sleep, and then round the Eden Project the next day to see what is new there. A fascinating place, it's always worth spending the day looking around it.

Leaving London late Friday night to arrive in Malpas near Truro Satrday morning.Wake up in Maplas overlooking the inlet then a morning walk to fill our lungs of good Cornish air. Lunch would be a good pint of Doom & fish & chips at the Heron. Then canoe to Smugglers for a Cream tea in the afternoon. enjoy the benefits of the incoming tide back into Malpas and settle in for the night. Sunday early start through StAustell via Mevagissey for lunch in StMaws overlooking the Harbour.

My idea of a perfect week-end is a gorgeous sea-side hotel in Cornwall, waking up to the sound of the sea, the salt air, full english breakfast, followed by a stroll along the beach. Good old Fish and Chips for lunch, a trip to marvel at the wonders of the Eden Project and Sunday lunch at Jamaica Inn. English food, english sea-side, what else could anyone need!

My perfect weekend would start with a lie in bed with the morning papers, orange juice and a slice of toast. After a power shower a walk on the beaches and hills of Cornwall. Lunch in a local pub and then a stroll around a local farmers market to choose some things for tea. Back at the cottage relaxing with an open fire and a game of scrabble. A phone call home to check our 3 boys are Ok (looked after by nana) then a relaxing tea cooked by myself and my lovely husband. Just peace and quiet!

A long weekend in cornwall, beautiful beaches, the evening sun, a chance for surfing and fishing and summer evenings on the quayside enjoying the days catch with friends and a bottle of wine, what could be more perfect, action, adventure, relaxation, summer walks and chilling with good food and excellent company.
