Your perfect weekend - Bath

The golden city of Bath has been welcoming visitors for over 2,000 years. Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe, such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge.

My perfect weekend would be a day in town, Bath or somewhere with great niche shopping (and a few cheesy shops) and an amazing restaurant for dinner, followed by a day in the countryside, walking, getting muddy, lunching somewhere scrummy - basically something for the city girl who feels the need to get out into the countryside every so often! In fact that's pretty much what I was treated to for my birthday this time last year, perfect!

My perfect weekend is a trip to the wonderful city of Bath. Days will be spent wondering around the romantic city centre streets, the Royal Cresent and the Roman Baths, walking beside the River Avon or visiting nearby villages like Bradford upon Avon. Occasionally we will indulge in traditional cakes, teas and lemonades. Evenings will open up the world to us when we visit tradional or modern, elegant restaurants to eat great food and drink good wine, tantalising our tastebuds mmmmmmmmm.

The perfect weekend would have to be spent in Bath. Culture around every corner, magnificent scenery, shops to suit every pocket and history by the bucket load. Then, when you’re too tired to do anything else, there’s a spa to recover in! A meal in one of the city’s many and varied restaurants should be followed by a stay at Pennsylvania Farm just outside the city. We’ve been going back to Bath for over twenty years now and I can’t see us stopping anytime soon.

I would stay in a wonderful old hotel with real beams and open fires, i would start the day with a gorgeous full english breakfast then spend my weekend enjoying all the historical sights Bath has to offer and also enjoy the shopping it has to offer too! Then a beautiful evening meal in Sally Lunn's then return to my four poster room with open fire and have a good nights sleep!

My perfect weekend is a visit to Bath. A lazy, cooked English breakfast, followed by a stroll around the wondeful Georgian streets, and a visit to the new spa. A typical cream tea in lieu of lunch, and then dinner in one of the fabulous eateries.
