  1. Ivy Farm, Overstrand, Norfolk

Set back from the cliffs on the edge of the sleepy village of Overstrand, Ivy Farm is a quiet and peaceful place to recharge your batteries. Here you can rest and ponder under the big Norfolk skies. From here you can walk down to the beach and along the sand and shingle to Cromer. This is a friendly and well run family-owned site with a good mix of campers and a couple of small pools which are ideal to cool off in on a hot day. The local village shops usually have just what you need.

  2. Outney Meadow Campsite, Bungay

We went canoeing on the Broads from this campsite - it has a super location for discovering the Broads but is an easy drive away from the beginning of the Fens too! Also, I would recommend going in September or June when you get the place to yourself - we didn't meet any other boats during our three hours in the canoe - very Swallows and Amazons! In Bungay there's three or four good places to eat - Indian, Thai and pub grub a short walk away! After all that canoeing you'll need it! Recommended.

  6. Seatown, Nr Bridport, Dorset

Wonderfull location by a quite sandy beach. Take a walk along the coastal path, over the cliffs with fantastic views, find the tea house along the way and carry on to the next sandy beach at Eype. Sit at The Anker pub in Seatown getting blown by the fresh sea breeze, try the local cider and then just a short crawl back to the tent. Wonderfull, England ar its best!

Drogo in Dartmoor. This is not a public campsite I am afraid, but the views are just stunning and I am sure there are campsites nearby.
