Blast, Curzon Street Station, Birmingham
Blast marks the opening evening of Birmingham's 2007 Artsfest. A huge light rink modelled on a UFO, a gigantic hot pipe organ and a runaway steam train makes up part of a spectacular performance at Curzon Street station.  Mark Andersen, who worked in the Eastside around 10 years ago, would walk past Curzon Street Station every day and it was this building that inspired the concept of Blast. The audience makes their way on to the site, greeted by colour-changing beams of light that stretch across the city's skyline and beyond. The whole area is set to be illuminated by hundreds of burning fires, with the imposing Curzon Street Railway building at its centre. www.urban-fusion.info
