Heritage coasts - Flamborough Headland

Flamborough Headland

The dazzling white chalk headland makes this the East Coast showpiece. To the north are probably the finest line of chalk cliffs in the country, rising, at Bempton, to 130 metres, and home to our only mainland gannet colony. Rare geology of clay on chalk gives notable plant and wildlife.

Although only a short stretch of Heritage Coast, it is a well-tramped one, with a visitor centre, walks programme and a team of local conservation volunteers.
