Surrey Hills AONB

Surrey Hills

Stretching from Farnham in the west to Oxted in the east, the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) encompasses a rich and diverse landscape.  The hills themselves embrace an amazing variety of countryside, from the rolling chalk North Downs and flower rich grasslands, to the acid heaths and woodland of the Greensand Hills. Dotted across the area, amongst the rural villages and market towns, are some real treasures including Leith Hill, the highest point in South East England, and Denbies Wine Estate, the largest privately owned vineyard in Europe.  Along with popular beauty spots such as Box Hill, Newlands Corner and the Devil’s Punch Bowl, the rivers Wey, Tillingbourne and Mole, a wealth of stately homes, beautiful parks and gardens and a whole host of other attractions, we’re sure you’ll discover there’s plenty to explore in the Surrey Hills.
