Are you looking for those additional touches to make your holiday more memorable? Our quality ratings are a clear guide to what to expect, in an easy to understand form. Trained impartial assessors visit properties annually, staying overnight as an anonymous guest or on a day visit arranged in advance with the owner.

For hotels and guest accommodation high standards of housekeeping are a major requirement; heating, lighting, comfort and convenience are also part of the assessment. For an overnight stay, assessors book their accommodation as a normal guest and take all aspects of their visit into account, from how the telephone enquiry is dealt with to the quality of the service and the particular facilities on offer. They will also assess the quality of the food, the knowledge of the staff and the standard of available services.

We assess all types of accommodation. Use our accommodation search to look for five star hotels in your preferred destination. If you are looking for inspiration we’ve randomly selected five 5 star or diamond places to stay under each of our accommodation categories.
