The Bronte sisters
Born in the Yorkshire village of Thornton, the Bronte Sisters spent most of their lives in Haworth where their father was a clergyman. They all became famous for their successful novels, still popular today.

Bronte Parsonage Museum
Picture the sisters penning their novels at their writing desks as you wander through the rooms of the house where they lived from early childhood. It was opened as a museum in 1928 and contains many of the Bronte’s own possessions.
The Bronte Birthplace Museum, Thornton
A month before the battle of Waterloo, the Rev. Patrick Bronte settled in the little hillside village of Thornton, and the Bronte sisters were born here.
