Celebrate the year of Darwin’s 200th Birthday
England celebrates the father of evolution with a packed programme of discussions and debates, events and performances in film, music, philosophy, science and literature.
Darwin 2009
Visit this week-long festival in the town where Darwin was an undergraduate student. The programme includes over 100 big name, big issue talks, debates, workshops, performances, exhibitions and film exploring Darwin’s impact on science, society, literature, history, philosophy, theology, art and music. The Festival is produced in partnership with The British Council and The Naked Scientists radio show.

Music and Evolution
Held every three years, Cambridge's premier music festival has a theme of Music and Evolution for 2009. This will include specially commissioned pieces inspired by Darwin, music composition projects exploring DNA with The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institue, and an exploration of Darwin's writings about music. A performance of the Darwin Quartet will take place on 24 November 2009. Part of Cambridge Darwin2009 Festival.
