Determined to put the industrial scene on the artistic map, in this picture Lowry shows Salford in Greater Manchester at the height of industrialism in his typical unique style. Salford Quays has recently undergone a major regeneration and now houses a number of important venues including The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North.
