Ever since the Goring opened its doors in 1910, afternoon tea has been a constant feature. This icon of hospitality serves its classic set tea in the comfort of various reception rooms including the Lounge and the Terrace. The menu is long, and probably best enjoyed in the company of friends gathered for an enjoyable chat; start with a selection of sandwiches, move on to home-made scones with clotted cream and jam, then try some of the traditional pastries – don’t forget to keep a little space for the Goring fruit cake, or a portion of sachertorte with Chantilly cream. Several speciality teas and the house blend will accompany this feast.
