A delightfully refreshing discovery in Bridlington’s historic Old Town, the Georgian Tea Rooms occupies the ground floor of a Grade II listed building, and enhances its period charm with beautifully kept antique furniture. The proprietors, Diane Davison and her brother David Rothwell painstakingly restored the building some five years ago, and on the two floors above they have showrooms filled with antiques, collectables and objets d’art, where customers are sure to enjoy browsing. The patio and large garden to the rear, with its antique fountain, is a great attraction in fine weather, with seating for a further couple of dozen people. The menu offers home-cooked food, freshly prepared from locally-supplied ingredients. Particular favourites are the selection of home-made quiches, cakes and pastries, although the food options range through cooked breakfasts, light lunches, sandwiches and ices, with daily specials extending from tasty savouries to additional cakes. Family functions can also be catered for. No dogs except guide dogs.
