The cellars of The Carpenters Arms have many passages that lead to Windsor Castle and were active until the early 19th Century - however they have now been bricked up.
The Crooked House, opposite the Carpenters, was built around the same time and history books state that the shop was originally a butcher's shop. Market Street, the Carpenters’ Arms postal address, was once called 'Butchers Row'.
