If you’ve got a glut of apples, it’s often hard to know quite what to do with them, but West Lake Farm have the answer. They’ll press your apples into juice; all you have to do is bring along at least 8-10 sackfuls (they’ll provide the sacks). They reckon about 38 apples makes a litre of juice so 10 sackfuls makes about 100 bottles. You can choose to have it pasteurised for a longer shelf-life or leave it unpasteurised for immediate consumption or freezing.

If you want to try making your own, George, who owns the farm, also runs courses on juice and cider making and they hire out their portable mill and press but book early to avoid disappointment.
