If you have the space, why not plant an orchard? Blackmoor Estate Nurseries sell dozens of traditional-variety apple trees from Ashmead’s Kernel and Blenheim Orange to Cornish Gillyflower (first found in Truro in 1813), and dispense free advice on growing, pruning and grafting your chosen tree.
If you want to taste before you buy, pay a visit to their farm shop, where you can buy the apples they grow themselves ready-picked along with Blackmoor’s own cider.
