Surfing weekend with a twist

Bournemouth is about to become a hot spot on every surfer’s must-surf list with the development of Europe’s first artificial surf reef at Boscombe.  This project which is to be completed this autumn, will double the amount of days when surfers can ride the waves along this section of the coast, encouraging surf-lovers from around the world to bring their boards to Bournemouth.

Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are widely recognised as the finest sailing waters in the UK. This together with the development of the purpose built , on-shore facilities have resulted in the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy being selected as the venue for the London 2012 Olympic sailing events. Visitors are encouraged to sign up for week-long courses or yachting and sailing days to take full advantage of the facilities, the first 2012 Olympic venue to be completed besides the Dome.
