Bradford Cathedral
Bradford's beautiful Cathedral is a hidden jewel waiting to be discovered. Set in tranquil gardens where once battle raged, the Cathedral is alive with a sense of story from its 13 centuries at the heart of Bradford.

Bradford Industrial Museum & Horses At Work
An original spinning mill is alive with magnificent machinery which once converted ran wool into the worlds worsted cloth, while Shire horses give rides and pull a horse tram. There's also a mill manager's house furnished as they knew it at the turn of the century.

East Riddlesden Hall
This imposing 17th century manor house contains a stunning collection of embroideries, pewter and oak furniture. Visitors can wander around the house and absorb its lived-in feel.

Yorkshire Craft Centre
The magnificent Yorkshire Craft Centre, based adjacent to the Lister Building at Bradford College, includes workshops, exhibition space and a cafe bar with internet access.

What to do outdoors

Five Rise Locks/Leeds-Liverpool Canal
Bingley's Five Rise Locks were built so that barges on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal (opened in 1774) could rise or fall around 60 feet - a feat of engineering then, and still spectacular today.

Lister Park
Lister Park is one of Bradford's largest parks, a picturesque setting situated between Manningham, Heaton and Frizinghall - with tennis and basketball courts, bowling greens and a children's playground.

Shipley Glen Tramway
The Shipley Glen Cable Tramway is the oldest working cable tramway in England. Dating from 1895, the line was built to serve the local beauty of Shipley Glen, near Saltaire in West Yorkshire.

St Leonard's Farm 
Come and meet friendly farmer James and his family, on their award-winning farm in Esholt near Bradford. The farm has lots of different animals, some of which you can feed.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
Fully-operational, preserved railway branch line, 5 miles long, Keighley-Oxenhope. Six award-winning stations including Oakworth, 'The Railway Children' station.

Museums & galleries

1853 Gallery
Four comprehensive art galleries featuring over 400 works by David Hockney. Grade II Listed historic mill building set in a picturesque village which was built for the mill workers in 1853. Salts Mill and Saltaire include various retail outlets and a park.

Bolling Hall Museum
The museum offers visitors a fascinating journey through the lives and times of the Bradford families for whom it provided a home over five hundred years. Situated just a mile from Bradford city centre  in a quiet, leafy garden, it was for many years the seat of two important land-owning families, the Bollings and the Tempests.

Bronte Parsonage Museum (www.bronte.org.uk/)
The Brontë Parsonage Museum is maintained by the Brontë Society in honour of the famed Brontë sisters — Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë — and is located in Haworth, Yorkshire.

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery 
Built 1904 in Baroque style as an art gallery, the Cartwright Hall Art Gallery contains permanent collections of 19thC and 20thC British art, transcultural collection of arts from the Indian sub-continent and contemporary South Asian art.
