A Rick Stein establishment
I
f you’re the kind of person who goes weak at the knees at the sight of a freshly caught sea bass, then you really should get yourself down to Padstow, sharpish.
This is where you’ll find Rick Stein’s famous Padstow Seafood School, dedicated – as the name suggests – to the art of creating delicious fish dishes and fruits de mer.
There are tons of courses to choose from, depending on what floats your (ahem) boat – from classic seafood dishes to Japanese sashimi. But whichever one you go for, it’s all orientated around a delicious lunch (just how life should be).
You’ll spend the morning preparing fresh fish dishes and cooking, guided by top notch chefs as they take you through everything – from choosing the right ingredients to the best technique for de-scaling a sea bream.
The climax comes when you get to sit down at the long refectory table overlooking the harbour and eat your own hard work. And if you’re staying a few days, why not book yourself into one of Rick’s 40-odd rooms located across three restaurants and a hotel.
No wonder locals call the place “Padstein”.
