t first glance, this colourful and heavily embroidered Mongolian yurt looks like it belongs with the circus. Duck your head inside, though, and you’ll discover your own personal boudoir – all sheepskin rugs, luxuriant satin fabrics and low lighting – plus an oil-fired heater, fridge and TV.

We know it’s tempting just to cocoon yourself in the yurt’s fabric walls, but if you do you’ll be missing out. The pretty village of Keswick is a five-minute walk away, and outside you’ve got views of the Skiddaw and Latrigg fells – a fitting backdrop to your morning toast and marmalade.
