Have you thought about interactive avatars that interact with the website and other visiting avatars?

There's a site called weblin.com where you create your own avatar. This avatar will appear at the bottom of your screen. when you visit different websites it will appear alongside other avatars using the same site as you. You can right click the other avatars to see what their interests are and either private message them or have a public coversation with all avatars on the same site as you. You can also attach a website to your avatar - pretty cool!
