After the recent release of the 'British X-files' to the public there seems to be much speculation over the validity of these reports. One of the strangest is the case in Northumbria where 12 police officers say they saw a UFO in December 1981. Another mystery space craft seen flying over Wallasey Town Hall were also recorded by government officials. The list goes on... Some say though that the MOD are only realesing these files as it shows that they are no longer taking the whole thing seriously. Not quite sure how much of this I belive but a few of the 'reports' certainly make for an interesting read... I don't think any UFOs have been spotted near my house, though I'm sure my children would like it very much!

Hi Katie, thanks for the Welcome! An Unidentified Flying Postman shot past my letter-box today - with what? Well, it was only snail-mail, but the point is, just coz we don't know what it is, it does not mean it isn't Something - as with UFOs. I think the fascination is with fings wot Fly, and come from we-know-not where. Mirages in the desert are common-place, so if anything refracts light from some source, it is bound to take on a strange and unaccountable shape. As regards photographing these things, i restrict myself to birds, mostly. The poor postman does not get a look in! By the way, is Today the day that a Photographic competition yields its reesults on this site? I am not sure where I should be looking to see who has won...

Hi Perspicador With regard to the photo competition I will check with the editorial team tomorrow. The last I heard they were close to announcing a winner... so watch this space.
