Given all this lovely weather which hopefully will hold until the weekend - I hope to go to the beach over the weekend. I was reading in the paper today however - that there have been record numbers of the country's workforce throwing 'sickies' to make the most of the weather. Maybe they know something I don't!! Anyway what do you all think makes a great beach?

I was wondering why my usually packed train was half empty this morning!

Come to think of it I found it much easier to get a seat on the train on Friday than I usually do! I'm really looking forward to visiting the Northumberland coastline later in the year. I'll probably do it on a weekend though.

I have heard the weather is going to cool down over the next couple of days... looks like its back to busy trains and roads

Think you might be right lola. If it was to stay nice though my favourite beach is Brighton. There is an awful lot to do there when you get fed up with the beach (which I always do). I like to have a good wander around The Laines after, followed by fish and chips sitting on the seafront.
