Hello,

We've been to St. Ives in Cornwall and loved it.

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions for resorts similar to St. Ives anywhere in the UK.

We're looking to be near the sea, quaint, winding streets, fishing village atmosphere, olde worlde.

Thanks in advance.

Tinks.

Hello there,

I'm off to Cornwall this weekend for Easter, I absolutely love it there and think it is the best resort in the UK, but I am biased after living there for most of my childhood!

The only other place that I have visited that reminded me of St.Ives was Whitby in Yorkshire, lovely little resort to relax and very famous for Magpie's Fish And Chips....

I hope that this helps!

I really like St Ives too. My aunt used to live just outside of St Ives and we spent many happy summers in that area. It would be really nice to go back actually with my children. Another really pretty little place is Looe.

You might want to look at Leigh-on-Sea, Essex - a working fishing village, ruined castle up the hill, craft shops, fresh seafood on sale every day, art gallery, and near enough to many other places!

I keep meaning to get to Aldeburgh in Suffolk. Have heard it's a charming seaside town with a great arts/festival scene!
