Is it just me or is Celeb spotting somewhat of an English past-time? Maybe there's not enought steam trains aroud so our inner train spotter decides those lurvley celebs are worth spotting! Seen any near you? I've always got various one's on Kings road - Callum Best was there at the weekend, but my favourite's always Professor Steven Hawkins in Cambridge - always with a different nurse!

I think you're right robathon it is a bit of a fascination we seem to have. James Bolam (most famous for the Likely Lads)lives in our village in Sussex and we regulary bump (literally) into him in the very small paper shop! I have worked for an airline for a long time and staff always comapare notes on who had seen who on different flights. I'm not an avid train spotter so this is probably the next best thing!

James Bolam? Argh I'm terrible at celebs... I had to ask Marc Almond, Shakin Stevens and Tony Visconti who the heck they were when I met them! (Little did I know that there'd be 200+ fans screaming outside a stage door for all of them!) Then again i'm good at spotting the more "trendy" ones in my local clubs - saw Daniel Craig in Amika not too long ago - but i'm not a girl so wasnt too bowled over!

Errmmm... can't say I've spotted many. Does seeing Eamonn Holmes at a service station count? UK hotels - UK tourist attractions

I have seen The Queen, Prince Harry, Mischa Barton etc at events like Royal Ascot and Cartier Polo. It always suprises me how close you can get to them. Great days out and a chance to dress up, even though I have never won on the horses.

I saw Terry Wogan coming out of one of the West End theatres in London a few years ago. Plus Posh and Becks, but they were soon crowded by people.

I've seen Jeremy Irons (well tall), the chap from Scissor Sisters, Peaches Geldof, John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Debbie Harry and the best spot I think was Damon Albarn who once came into The Dove pub in Hammersmith where I used to work. He was with a couple of mates and wanted something to eat, I said we'd closed up and sent him down to The Old Ship which is nearby. Anyone been to The Dove for a pint? http://www.pubs.com/pub_details.cfm?ID=175

Apparently Robbie Williams used to be a fairly regular visitor to our local Indian Restaurant and once bought a round of drinks for my mate's wife and all her friends. I haven't seen him yet though

Good spot! Just remembered another one, Obi Wan himself - Ewan Mcgregor. Very down to earth and friendly.

In London there is a Bulgarian Orthodox Church. When the priest walks down the street, he is often asked for his autograph, because people think he is Sean Connery. But when they ask for the autograph, or you ask him about it afterwards, he never actually DENIES being Sean Connery - he just says things like "they thought I was Sean Connery, isn't it funny?" Based on what the official Sean Connery and the priest say about themselves, they are two separate people - but Sean Connery is an ACTOR. What is true, what is not, and how do you know? There is some evidence that they are the same person too. Can the celebrity spotters shed some light on this?

I heard today that David Gilmour of Pink Floyd lives just outside our village. Apparently he was even spotted in our local supermarket last week. I'm going to look on wikipedia now to see what that says...
