Hi Slim. It depends on where you want to go in England and when. On the 23rd of April it is St George's day and there are a number of events taking place across the country. You can find out about some of them on our site http://www.enjoyengland.com/attractions/events/calendar/april/st-george-events.aspx?sav=b| On the same day it is also William Shakespeare's birthday so there will be a number of celebrations taking place in his birth place of Stratford-upon-Avon. http://www.shakespeare.org.uk/april.htmlI hope this helps

Have a look at my post on Tisbury in the Visitor Tips - Best Place for a Spring Walk section. You won't regret it!

You've probably been and gone by now slim - where did you endup going? While I was in the Isle of Wight recently I noticed they are having a week long(maybe longer) walking festival- it had all sorts of walks taking place - even speed dating with your dog walks! sounds interesting!

How do you walk for a week on the Isle of Wight? You would end up in the sea on the second day!
Who wants to speed date a dog? I once copy edited a newspaper article about a dog show in which the reporter claimed to have interviewed the "participants", i.e. the dogs. Would love to have seen that. Maybe that reporter is a native of the Isle of Wight.

Hi everyone. I was quite intrigued by this Isle of Wight speed dating dog walking thing so I just googled it and apparently as part of the annual Walking Festival there is a 'Romantic Walk' for single dog owners. It is only 3 miles so I guess it would be rather like speed dating depending on how fast you walk! My dog would probably be terrified of all the other dogs. Hopefully that reporter Varangarian encountered will be there to get both sides of the story! Isle of Wight Walking Festival
