Gordon Brown is holidaying at home this year - in Southwold. Why do you think he chose Southwold?

Where would you send your Prime Minister on holiday? Think

Lets hope it lasts longer than his last holiday that was cut short by foot and mouth. Think he was only there for about 5 hours! Anxious

The PM should holiday at home shouldn't he - lots of other people will be doing the same this year because of inflation. He's putting his money back into the British economy and he won't be flying so (apparently?) causing big environmental damange. It's good to see a PM putting his money where his mouth is Applause

Good on him. At least he is helping to support the economy. I think this year we may also be taking our summer break in England. Its a choice between either Yorkshire or Cornwall. I know they are both very different, but I have always wanted to go to both places. Any recommendations for either place, please let me know.

Well I say Gordon should holiday in England but then check out my signature... ha ha ha! Sorry to veer off a bit but I must advise you NicoleCH... Robin Hood's Bay, situated just outside Whitby in Yorkshire is apparently reminiscent of many a charming Cornish coastal fishing village (apprently - as I overheard people saying this when I went there a few weeks back!) Sounds like it might be the kind of thing you are looking for?

I've never been myself but from what I've read in the papers Mr PM is not slumming it - and why indeed should he...? He deserves some time off as muskovic1369 says - I do agree Angel

David Cameron seems to be taking a leaf out of Mr Brown's book and is holidaying in Cornwall. Is the PM on his holidays yet?
