With its roots in mediaeval times, the City of London is the oldest local authority in England. Even the parliament at Westminister is based on the City of London's Court of Common Council, which has been refered to as the 'Grandmother of Parliaments'.  The TIC can be found in St Paul's Courtyard.

The beautifully preserved historical buildings of Greenwich World Heritage Site include The Royal Naval College, The Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park and the Georgian and Victorian town centre.

Lewisham, founded in the 6th century, is now one of London's major transport hubs. The high street is home to many superb shops as well as the library and TIC. A nearby pedestrianised area hosts a daily market.

As London’s greenest borough, Richmond upon Thames has long been a favourite retreat of royalty and celebrity. The VIC is located in a 19th century mansion in the heart of the town close to the River and Richmond Hill, with its famous view which is protected by an Act of Parliament.
