Grassington
Grassington is one of the best-known villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with its pretty cobbled square and beautiful setting above the River Wharfe. In the square, a selection of family-owned shops offer quality food, clothing and gifts, alongside small cosy cafés, restaurants and hotels.
People have lived around here since prehistoric times but the village first became important as a centre for the lead mining industry in the 18th century. Many of today's picturesque cottages once housed miners and their families.
Grassington provides an excellent base for exploring the high moorland and riverside walks of Upper Wharfedale. The views are breathtaking and truly beautiful in all seasons.
