Driffield
The town of Driffield lies just on the edge of the Wolds and is sometimes known as the 'Capital of the Wolds'. A staging post from north to south, it still retains this unique position whilst also being the central point between York, Hull and Scarborough. It is an ideal centre from which to visit the Yorkshire Coast, Wolds, historic areas and stately houses and even the North Yorkshire Moors.
Driffield has a full annual programme of events and hosts the largest one-day agricultural show in the country, as well as many other events such as a two-day steam traction engine rally. If you visit the town at the New Year, don't miss the traditional "scrambling" through its streets!
