Great Western Railway Museum

Take time to discover Swindon – where the West Country meets the Cotswolds. This vibrant, growing town has a reputation of having a warm welcome for visitors from all over the world.

The fascinating history of the Great Western Railway has been brought alive at STEAM - Museum of the Great Western railway and the refurbished buildings of the historic railways also house the archive of England’s Heritage at the National Monuments Record Centre.

When it comes to entertainment Swindon's got the lot - theatre, fabulous restaurants, fashionable bars, and premier nightclubs. You can also visit Lydiard Park and House, delightful villages, Victorian parks, historic market towns and beautiful countryside.

What about shopping? Shop till you drop in the town centre or at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Great Western, Europe’s largest covered designer outlet centre, or at the small curiosity shops in Old Town.

Getting to Swindon is easy – with excellent transport links and only one hour from London.
