East Devon

Church in Branscombe, Devon

East Devon has much to offer throughout the year. Step back in time and enjoy a magical vista of sea, beaches and World Heritage Coast; enjoy the most breathtaking views from the South West Coastal Path or simply unwind. Enjoy life at a leisurely pace.

Exmouth is one of England’s oldest holiday seaside-towns and the western gateway World Heritage Coast Site.

Budleigh Salterton, situated at the mouth of the River Otter, is an historic traditional seaside town nestling on the edge of a unique pebble beach with spectacular red cliffs.

Sidmouth is a picture book Regency town for coast and countryside. An idyllic holiday setting with an unhurried charm.

For one of the oldest and most historic towns in Devon visit Ottery St Mary, which offers an ideal base away from seaside crowds, yet is close to the World Heritage Coast Site.

Honiton has an historic reputation for lace making but today this is also a major centre for antiques, with some 30 shops devoted to furniture, art and second-hand books.

Tucked away in the south east corner of Devon is unspoilt Axe Valley.

All of the stunning landscape between Exmouth, to Lyme Regis and up to Honiton (some 270 sq km) is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
