Morris Dancers in Axbridge Square

Axbridge is an attractive market town at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The town is characterised by its complete medieval square which is made up of half -timbered buildings.

The most famous building in the town, King John’s Hunting Lodge, is set in the square and houses the Axbridge and District Museum.

Axbridge also has a good supply of specialist shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants and is only a few minutes drive from Cheddar Gorge. The nearby Mendip Hills also provide numerous opportunities for walkers, cyclists and other outdoor pursuit enthusiasts.
