Woking

River Wey, Woking

Situated in the heart of Surrey, the Borough of Woking offers the excitement of London and the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.  Our excellent transport links mean that the South East’s best-known attractions are all close to hand.

Whether you like convenient shopping, great entertainment, historic villages or interesting days out, there’s something for everyone.  Acres of common land and miles of waterways are also on the doorstep offering a relaxing retreat and the chance for a leisurely walk or bike ride.

The level town centre, under-cover shopping malls and good transport facilities, make Woking a particularly popular destination for people with mobility problems.  The Town Centre Buggy, which operates within the pedestrian area, helps people to get around, and Shopmobility loans wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids throughout the week.

If you’re looking for superb live entertainment then look no further than The Ambassadors theatre and cinema complex. The best of the West End brings musicals and drama, international dance and world famous opera to Woking.  In September 2007, blockbuster exhibitions will also be on display when The Lightbox, the new gallery and museum, opens its doors.
