Gosport

Explosion!

From the earliest times Gosport’s fortunes have been linked to the sea. Today the tradition continues and visitors, whatever their interests, can enjoy the many fascinating attractions that Gosport has to offer. Why not start with a bang at Explosion! – the Museum of Naval Firepower and then let your imagination take you to a new depth at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, voted one of the 50 best small museums in Britain. History enthusiasts can go back in time to the 1642 Living History Village. Just take in the spectacular views around Portsmouth Harbour from aboard one of Gosport Ferry’s boats. If you are feeling energetic follow the Millennium Promenade Trail running along Gosport’s busy waterfront. Admire The Timespace, a huge sundial and light clock spanning 40 metres.

For a spot of retail therapy, come and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the south coast’s largest twice-weekly market along Gosport High Street. If the coast is more your scene Gosport’s beaches at Stokes Bay and Lee on the Solent provide some of the cleanest and safest bathing waters along the South Coast.
