Longframlington

Much of Longframlington dates back to the late 17th and early 18th century. It is a historic coaching stop on the A697, perched on a ridge at the top of a long, steep hill. Known locally as 'Langfram' or just plain 'Fram', over the years its population has risen and it has grown somewhat, but Fram has remained very much a ‘village’, retaining its original atmosphere. It provides a good variety of accommodation and meals for travellers. The main tourist attraction in the village is the Longframlington Gardens and on Hall Hill are the remains of a camp with triple entrenchment. Nearby is Brinkburn Priory, in a delightful location by the River Coquet.
