Belford

Cheviot hills from Holburn

The village of Belford is located one mile from the A1 and within 20 miles of all the major attractions of   North Northumberland, including Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Garden and Berwick upon Tweed. Ideally located for the magnificent beaches at Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Beadnell, it makes a good base for families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The village centre dominated by the Parish Church of St Mary’s was in the past a hive of activity with an old coaching inn and market place. Shops and pubs are located within the main street and there is a 9 hole golf course and clubhouse at the southern end of the village.

Cycling, walking and bird watching are popular pursuits, with the Cheviot Hills and nature reserves nearby. Golf courses offering 18 hole play abound along the coastline.
