Seaham
A small town with a close-knit community, lying within the Easington District but only a stone's throw away from the city of Sunderland, famed for its annual air show, football club and up-to-the-minute nightlife. Along the coast, on the cliff tops, or ‘beach banks’ as they are known locally, refreshing walks are on offer, commanding majestic views and colourful flora and fauna. Alas, these walks are often accompanied with a bracing North Sea breeze, strong enough to clear away any cobwebs (and even hangovers too!). Some shops serve the community, whilst for the professional ‘shopaholic’, nearby Sunderland is a haven not to miss. Newly opened and close to Seaham is Dalton Park – a retail park where high-street names have discounted retail outlets offering fashion, sports and house wares.
