Romaldkirk
One of the prettiest villages in the area, built informally around three greens and with an old stocks and village water pump. The 12th-century church of St Romald is known locally as the ‘Cathedral of the Dales’. There are plenty of lovely walks in the area and ample opportunities for a stop-off at one of the local inns.
