Kidderminster

Kidderminster is famous for the manufacturing of carpets.  Founded by Brintons in 1785, the carpet industry became very important to the local economy and continued to grow with other carpet manufacturers making Kidderminster a hub for carpet manufacturing. 

The visitor attractions in and around Kidderminster include shopping at Weaver’s Wharf where shoppers will be delighted with a choice of retail outlets.  A visit to West Midland Safari and Leisure Park is enough to satisfy every person’s dream of getting close to an abundance of wildlife from around the world including white lions and tigers.  The Severn Valley Railway meanders its way along side the River Severn and begins its journey in Kidderminster.  There isn’t a better way to explore this part of Worcestershire.  Located nearby is a selection of walking and cycling trails through a variety of country settings.  There is Kingsford Forest Park and to the north-west and Clent Hills to the north-east.  Outside of Kidderminster is the Elizabethan Harvington Hall with its rare wall paintings and the largest number of priest hiding places in England.
