Salford
Industrial city close to Manchester with Roman Catholic cathedral and university. LS Lowry often painted Salford’s industrial architecture and much of this work is now on display in the showpiece Lowry Centre.
Most of Salford’s main attractions are in the quay area with the quays providing a backdrop to pubs, walkways and a large cinema complex.
