Grizedale

Visit the Grizedale Visitor Centre and let the friendly staff help you choose your activities for the day ahead. Cycling, walking, sculpture guides and waymarked trails are all available – or create your own adventure.

Grizedale Forest Park offers superb views of Coniston Water, Windermere and Grizedale Valley itself. Take a walk up to the highest point at Carron Crag (317m) and enjoy a panorama of the central Lake District fells. Alternatively the Ridding Wood trail, suitable for all abilities, will take you high across a woodland gill on a suspension bridge or challenge you to play the forest xylophone. New for 2003 is 'Go Ape', a unique high ropes course which provides a challenging aerial adventure,

The forest sculptures - almost 100 of them - are a well known feature of Grizedale, which is reputed to be Europe's best sculpture park. Other facilities include a tea-room, shop, playground, picnic areas and disabled access. Grizedale Forest Park offers a great day out for everyone.
