Brampton
The pretty town of Brampton is ideally situated for exploring the north Cumbrian countryside.
In Brampton you'll find Pre-Raphaelite treasures in St Martin’s Church, while in the centre of the town is the octagonal Moot Hall, built in 1817, which now houses the Tourist Information Centre. Nearby is the beauty and serenity of Lanercost Priory, founded by Augustinian monks in 1169. Also close to Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park which features a 65-acre lake, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds' nature reserve, Gelt Woods.
