Acton Bridge
Acton Bridge is a village with old farmsteads and cottages on a picturesque section of the River Weaver. Riverside walks pass the great Dutton Viaduct on the former Grand Junction Railway and shipping locks on the Weaver Navigation Canal.
Its proximity to the canal means that Acton Bridge is a good starting point for a number of boating routes. The Cheshire Ring via the Peak Forest and Macclesfield is a beautiful route with constantly changing scenery. To the south you can travel the Four Counties Ring, or meander up to Chester and beyond to the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum.
