Felixstowe

Felixstowe seafront

Felixstowe is an attractive resort on the Suffolk Coast. It is know as the "Garden Resort of the East Coast". This is due to its extensive and beautiful gardens, along its long, level promenade and the town centre.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the seafront, town centre and the beach areas. The resort has the Spa Pavilion Theatre, which has a wide variety of shows ranging from ballet, drama festival, and pantomime. There is a cinema that shows the latest films and the theatre produces many other amusements and children’s activities.   The leisure centre has a swimming pool, bowling rink, soft play area for children and gym, as well as a catering outlet and bar. This is situated right on the seafront.

At Felixstowe Ferry, which is part of Old Felixstowe, there is a ferry across the estuary to Bawdsey, which is an interesting trip in its own right. At Bawdsey there are many interesting walks and the area is ideal for bird watching. Recuperate at the café with its excellent fish and chips and other delicious food.

At the other end of Felixstowe there is the Languard Penisular, with the nature reserve, fort, and Felixstowe Museum. The Viewpoint area on the Languard Penisular is very popular with residents and visitors, as you can watch ships going in and out of the Port of Harwich and Felixstowe, and there is always something interesting to watch.

Must see and do
