North Walsham

North Walsham, Norfolk

This busy market town became a centre for the wool industry in the late medieval period. The wealth generated enabled the local people to build St. Nicholas Church, which dates back to 1330. The 16th century market cross is the focal point of the town. Lord Nelson spent his schooldays at ‘The Paston School’.
