Aylsham

For 500 years, this picturesque small town was an important centre for the manufacture of linen, then worsted cloth. The open market place is surrounded by handsome 18th century buildings. Humphry Repton, the famous 18th century landscape gardener is buried in the churchyard. The town is noted for its regular antique auctions. Market day is held on Monday and Thursday and there is a farmers' market on the first Saturday of the month.
