Waltham Abbey

Waltham Abbey Church

Well preserved town, home to one of the county’s most outstanding Norman buildings, Waltham Abbey. It was endowed by King Harold, who was reputedly buried here. Beside the abbey is a lovely area of parkland and gardens. Sitting on the Meridian Line, the town has former coaching inns, and a fine ´Art Nouveau´ Town Hall.
