Ampthill

Ampthill

The picturesque, narrow streets of Ampthill are lined with fine Georgian buildings and quaint antique shops. Ampthill Park was once home to a 15th century castle, where Henry VIII stayed. It was also here that his wife, Katherine of Aragon, was kept during their divorce proceedings. A stone cross now marks the spot.

Ampthill's market day is Thursday and there is a Farmers' Market on the last Saturday in the month.
