To search our database of quality assured accommodation, follow the simple steps below. If you are looking specifically for self catering accommodation, we have further hints and tips, which you can read by clicking here.
Go to the Where to Stay section of the Enjoy England homepage – situated below the image carousel then click on Search Accommodation.
1. Enter the name of the place you are searching for in the Location box. You can search for every county, city, town and village in England, plus many wider tourism areas.
Choose how far away from the location you have entered that you wish to show results for. You can select a search radius of 1, 3, 5 or 10 miles. Click on the black arrow that appears to the right of the Location box.
2. Your search results will show a list of accommodation establishments in the location you have chosen. If you'd rather view your selection on a map, you have the option do to so by selecting the 'Display on map' option in the 'Find a place to stay' area on the left of the page and clicking the yellow search arrow.
To select the a different location you can either:
• Select a location from the drop-down menu above the map display (whereby the page will automatically update to display this particular location as a map icon).
• Select a location from one of the map icons displayed.
3. Click on the map icon and then click on the location name which appears within the pop-up bubble. Your search results for accommodation at this location will be displayed.
4. You will also be presented with additional search criteria to narrow down your search results on the left of the page. For example, you can now search by Accommodation type, Accommodation name and Quality rating.
Availability options can also be used when searching for accommodation to book online:
• Check in date: Click on the calendar icon and click on a date to select it. To search on a single date, enter the same date in both the From and To boxes.
• Rooms: Select the number of rooms you require. The page will automatically update to display Adult and Child drop-down options for each room.
The additional search criteria are also accessible through the Book Online Now and Accommodation tabs in the top navigation bar.
5. Under the Advanced Search you can also select various Accessibility and Facilities options by ticking the relevant boxes.
6. There are two ways to display your search results:
• Display on map: Your search results are shown as icons on a map – click on an icon for more information.
• Display as list: Your search results are listed as the most relevant to your search criteria.
Once you have selected one of the display criteria, make your search for accommodation by clicking on the Submit button.
Refine Results:
The search results screen displays up to 100 records that meet your search criteria. If there are more than 100 results, the database returns a random selection of these. You can alter how many results are displayed on each page by clicking on the Results per page: drop-down menu.
You can refine a search by selecting an option or criteria as stated above, such as by accommodation type of quality rating. If your search returned more than 100 results, the refined search will re-query the entire database, not just the 100 returned results.
Sort Results:
The results of your search are displayed in random order. There are a number of ways of sorting your results by selecting an option from the Sort by: drop-down menu. You can sort results by Alphabetically, Availability, Proximity, Price (ascending), Price (descending), Rating (ascending), or Rating (descending).
Show on Map:
You can view location in Map, Satellite or Hybrid format. Just click on the button to select the desired format.
