The Great English Holiday Is Back With 40% More Holidays Taken In July
New figures released today by VisitEngland from the UK Tourism Survey show that trips taken within England for the month of July were up by 24%, whilst the amount spent increased by 16%, compared with July 2008. Trips take in the whole of the UK were up by 20% in July and visitor spend rose by 13%, as compared to July 2008.

1.2 Million More Holidays Taken In England As Brits Take Breaks Closer To Home
Figures released today by VisitEngland from the United Kingdom Tourism Survey show that holiday trips taken by UK residents in England in the first four months of 2009 are up by 13%. That amounts to 1.2 million more holiday trips and over 5 million extra nights’ holiday taken than in the same period of 2008.

England's Top Ten Towns Revealed
VisitEngland’s annual report of the nation’s top ten most visited towns published today shows that whilst overall overnight trips in England fell by 5% in 2008, England’s top cities bucked the trend with, in some cases, significant increases in the number of overnight trips taken by UK residents.
